Also for the Academic Year 2025/2026, Sapienza University of Rome is promoting the 2nd level University Master’s Programme in Railway Infrastructure and Systems Engineering, now in its 21st edition, organized in collaboration with Almaviva, Alstom Ferroviaria, ATAC, BPS Deployment, Ferrotramviaria, Generale Costruzioni Ferroviarie, IDOM, Italo – Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori, Salcef Group, Siemens Mobility, Technital and Trenolab.

The Master’s Programme aims to provide a multidisciplinary advanced training path in the railway transport sector and in mobility as a whole, integrating engineering, economic and legal aspects that are essential for working in the planning, design, operation and maintenance of railway systems.

The effectiveness of the strong integration approach with the corporate partners supporting the Master’s Programme is demonstrated by the consistently high level of interest in this educational offer and by the results achieved in terms of employment opportunities for students (over the 20 editions completed so far, more than 500 Master’s graduates have been hired by the supporting companies, with a placement rate exceeding 91%).

The Master’s Programme is intended for holders of a second cycle (Master’s level) degree in Engineering, in the degree classes specified in the official Call for Applications. Final year students who will obtain their degree by 31 March 2026 may also apply.

Admission to the Master’s Programme will be based on the evaluation of candidates’ qualifications and an entrance examination designed to assess their technical knowledge, language skills (English), and aptitude. A maximum of 35 students will be admitted.

The enrolment fee is €3,000.00.

Partner companies will provide gross scholarships of €3,000.00 to the first 10 admitted candidates who attend at least 75% of the in class teaching hours.

The Master’s Programme requires full-time commitment for 7 months: from February to June 2026 for lectures, group work and educational visits; from July to September for the internship period in partner companies. The final examination, consisting of the discussion of the project developed during the internship, is scheduled for October 2026.
