CORATO–ANDRIA ROUTE: FROM 9 JUNE TO 28 AUGUST CIRCULATION WILL BE ON THE MOUNTAIN SIDE TRACK (EVEN TRACK) DUE TO INFRASTRUCTURAL IMPROVEMENT WORKS WHICH WILL AFFECT THE HISTORICAL TRACK (ODD-SEA SIDE)

The upgrade works on the railway line managed by Ferrotramviaria S.p.A. continue: from 9 June to 28 August 2025, circulation between Corato and Andria will be suspended on the track towards Bari (sea side) to allow the replacement of the railway infrastructure on the same track of the route. The reduction in the railway service will be compensated with replacement buses according to the timetable that will be in force starting from 9 June 2025 (available on all Ferrotramviaria communication channels).

An intervention aimed not only at increasing the reliability of the infrastructure, but also at technically aligning the track being worked on with the existing one, in line with the standards of the national railway infrastructure. The construction site, financed with PNC funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) for approximately 12 million euros, represents a fundamental step in a broader program of transformation of the regional railway network.

In fact, this is not an isolated intervention, but an infrastructure enhancement project that involves several strategic points along the line managed by Ferrotramviaria. Another example is the installation of the new metal bridge near the Francesco Crispi stop in Bari, which will involve – as is known – the interruption of rail traffic between Bari and Fesca San Girolamo and between Bari and Cecilia, and vice versa, from 30 May to 2 June 2025.

Further infrastructure enhancement intervention, always financed with PNRR funds, the continuation of the doubling of the Andria Nord–Barletta section, which once completed will allow greater capacity of the line, greater fluidity and regularity of the service.

All these interventions, together with the progressive elimination of level crossings, today reduced to only 19 PL, go in the same direction: adapting the railway infrastructure to national standards and making the Ferrotramviaria network fully interoperable with that of RFI, through the interconnection of the networks and also through the construction of the connecting tunnel between the Fesca S. Girolamo station of Ferrotramviaria and the Lamasinata station of RFI.

A gradual but concrete transformation to offer an increasingly modern, integrated service suited to the needs of the territory.

New timetables from 9 June to 28 August 2025 to allow for work: more trips to/from the Airport and new connections

During the interruption of rail traffic on one of the tracks between Corato and Andria, an extraordinary operating program will be activated, designed to guarantee travellers continuity and flexibility of service. Here are the main new features:

• 201 daily services on weekdays, including those to/from San Paolo (compared to the 181 of the current timetable in force);

• 9 additional replacement bus trips compared to the current program;

• 11 additional train trips compared to the current program;

• The trips passing through the Airport stop increase from 67 to 81 per day (+14). The 14 new runs (7 towards Bari and 7 towards Barletta) passing through the Karol Wojtyla Airport in Bari will increase connections and travel solutions for travellers from the North of Bari heading to/from the Airport.

A necessary intervention, which is part of a broader path to build a more efficient, connected and responsive railway network to the needs of the territory.
